Spa Day Celebration

This phase often begins in the mid to late 30s or early 40s but can last up to a decade. Initially, changes are subtle but impact ovarian follicles, menstrual cycles, and hormone levels in the brain. ✔️ Menstrual Cycle: Initially, cycles may only shift by a week, but over time, they can range from 14 to 50 days. Periods may become lighter or heavier. ✔️ Hormonal Changes: Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) remains stable at first, but as perimenopause progresses, it increases and fluctuates to stimulate declining ovarian estrogen production. Luteinizing Hormone (LH) may also rise. ✔️ Fertility: Although declining, pregnancy is still possible. If you skip two or more periods in a row, there is a 95% chance you will reach your final period within the next few years.

Late Perimenopause:

As this stage progresses, ovarian follicles continue to decline, making pregnancy highly unlikely but not impossible. ✔️ Menstrual Cycle: Late perimenopause is officially defined as 3–11 months without a period. ✔️ Hormonal Decline: Estrogen levels fluctuate downward, and fewer ovarian follicles mature in response to brain signals. ✔️ Symptoms Intensify: Hot flushes, night sweats, sleep difficulties, mood swings, headaches, joint stiffness, back pain, difficulty concentrating, heart palpitations, and urinary incontinence may become more pronounced.

🌸The Challenges of Perimenopause

One of the most frustrating aspects of perimenopause is its unpredictability. Energy, appetite, focus, motivation, mood, and pain levels can fluctuate daily without warning. Unlike a simple balance, hormonal feedback loops are incredibly complex—hormones are not meant to be perfectly "balanced".

The good news? While we can’t completely control hormones, we can support overall health and hormonal function with:

✔️ Proper nutrition
✔️ Regular exercise
✔️ Stress management
✔️ Quality sleep

✔️Positive Mindset

✔️Team of Health Care Practitioners

🌸Perimenopause marks the beginning of the transition toward menopause and typically lasts several years. During this phase, reproductive hormones fluctuate and gradually decline. Some women may experience noticeable menstrual cycle changes and other hormonal shift symptoms, while others may notice nothing at all. Pregnancy is still possible during perimenopause, though fertility declines.

Common menstrual changes include:

  • Longer or shorter cycles

  • Heavier or lighter periods

  • Irregular and unpredictable cycles

  • Increased pelvic pain and inflammation

🌸The Phases of Perimenopause

Perimenopause is divided into "early and late stages", though experiences vary from woman to woman and even month to month. Factors such as genetics, health, reproductive history, body composition, stress, and lifestyle choices can influence the transition.
